TCMA Nominating Committee
Minutes
Conference call
March 3, 2010

Members present on the conference call included TCMA Nominating Committee Chair Paul Parker,, City Manager, Lufkin and TCMA Immediate Past President; Bill Funderburk, City Manager, Hamilton; Kent Cagle, City Manager, Duncanville; Joe Dickson, City Manager, Santa Fe; Brad Stafford, City Manager, Navasota; and Mark Browne, City Manager, Terrell Hills. TML staff included Kyle Jung.

Paul Parker called the conference call to order at 2:00 p.m. and thanked the members for participating.

The TCMA Nominating Committee members reviewed the petitions submitted for the 2010 ballot for TCMA statewide officer positions. The petitions included: TML Board Representative – Randy Criswell, city manager, Canyon; Vice President – James Fisher, city manager, Murphy and Bert Lumbreras, assistant city manager, Austin; and President Elect – David Landis, city manager, Perryton.

Paul Parker asked the Nominating Committee members if they wished to add any other names to the ballot for the position of TML Board Representative and if the Nominating Committee members wanted to provide any endorsements of any candidates on the ballot. On a motion by Joe Dickson and a second by Brad Stafford, the committee decided against adding any other names to the ballot and against making any committee endorsement for a candidate.

Paul Parker asked the Nominating Committee members if they wished to add any other names to the ballot for the position of Vice President and if the Nominating Committee members wanted to provide any endorsements of a candidate on the ballot. On a motion by Joe Dickson and a second by Mark Browne, the committee decided against adding any other names to the ballot and against making any committee endorsement for a candidate.

Paul Parker asked the Nominating Committee members if they wished to add any other names to the ballot for the position of President Elect and if the Nominating Committee members wanted to provide any endorsements of a candidate on the ballot. On a motion by Brad Stafford and a second by Kent Cagle, the committee decided against adding any other names to the ballot and against making any committee endorsement for a candidate.

The Nominating Committee unanimously approved the following 2010 ballot for TCMA statewide officer positions:

TML Board Representative Randy Criswell, City Manager, Canyon
Vice President James Fisher, City Manager, Murphy
Bert Lumbreras, Assistant City Manager, Austin
President Elect David Landis, City Manager, Perryton

A subcommittee (Joe Dickson and Mark Browne) of the TCMA Nominating Committee will canvass the votes at 10:00 a.m. on April 6, at the TML office in Austin.

With nothing else on the agenda, the conference call was adjourned at 2:10 p.m.
