Marco Baeza is the new city manager of the City of Presidio. Allen Barnes is the new city manager of the City of Gonzales, effective September 6. Timothy Bolda is the new city manager of the City of Kirby. Calvin Cook retired as city manager of the City of Yoakum July 31. Al Veselk will serve as the interim city manager. Steve Fitzgibbons will no longer be the city manager of the City of Port Arthur, effective January 12, 2012. Todd Fuller is the new city manager for the City of Red Oak. Eric Gage will no longer be the city manager of the City of La Marque, effective September 21. Stephen Giesbrecht, city administrator of the City of Electra, will be the new city manager of the City of Petersburg, Alaska, effective October 3. David Gillespie is the interim city manager of the City of Daingerfield. Bryan Grimes is the new city manager of the City of Anson. Kyle J. Jung is the interim city manager of the City of Flatonia. Bill Kerber will retire as city administrator of the City of Kemah, effective September 30. Nestor Mata is no longer the interim city manager of the City of Sullivan. Rich Oller is the city manager of the City of League City. Daniel Singletary is the new city manager of the City of Madisonville. Michael Stoldt is no longer the city manager of the City of Lampasas. Barney L. Knight, Texas CPM Scholarship Clarence E. Ridley Scholarship Several Texas cities were recently named by Money Magazine as one of the 100 Best Places to Live in America. Thousands of cities across the United States with populations under 50,000 are reviewed and ranked every two years. The City of Murphy was ranked 27. The City of Keller made the list for the third time in a row. Other Texas cities making the list were Cibolo and The Colony. Jack White Jeffrey died on Sunday, July 31, after an illness. Jack was past city manager of the cities of Carrizo Springs, Kerrville, Waco, and Beaumont. A memorial has been sent on behalf of TCMA to the Waco Rotary Club Scholarship Fund. If anyone would like to send a personal note to the family, it can be sent to Mrs. Marian Jeffrey, 2817 Woodland Drive, Waco, Texas 76710. Bill Blackwell died on Monday, August 22. Bill was the TCMA president in 1970. He was also the past city manager of the cities of Freeport, Galveston, and Lubbock. Doug Faseler, city manager of the City of Seguin, was elected president of the Texas Public Power Association (TPPA) at the TPPA Annual Meeting held in San Antonio on July 24-27.
