Value of the Profession Campaign

At ts meeting on January 21, the TCMA Board unanimously approved a recommendation from the TCMA ICMA-issues Task Force to provide a significant financial contribution to the Life, Well Run Value of the Profession campaign being coordinated by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). The TCMA Board approved an initial $50,000 contribution, with an additional $50,000 pledge when half of the planned project's budget is raised. On Friday, February 25, TCMA ceremoniously handed a check to ICMA Executive Director Bob O'Neill and ICMA President Dave Childs in Austin. The estimated cost of the campaign is $5 million, with $4 million expected from private sector donors and a goal of raising $1 million from members. To date, nearly $170,000 in gifts and pledges, from 289 members and 24 state and assistants' associations, has been raised.
