The Texas City Management Association is pleased to send you this month’s edition of the Management Messenger. The deadline for 2010-2011 recommendations for president elect, vice president, and TML Board representative is February 26. A sample petition and the nominations-election process timetable are available on the TCMA home page at www.tcma.org.

Management Transitions

Jody Butler is the new city manager for the City of Madisonville.

Juan Cedillo is the new city manager for the City of Taft.

Mary Chambers is the new city administrator for the City of Anahuac.

Jeff Coffee will resign as city manager for the City of Elgin effective June 1.

Alan Grindstaff is no longer the city manager for the City of Jasper. Tommy Boykin is the interim city manager for that city.

Wanda Klause will retire as the city manager for the City of Borger on March 31.

Bill Lancaster is the city administrator for the City of Valley Mills.

Greg Leveling is the city administrator for the City of Runaway Bay.

Douglas Mousel is the new city manager for the City of Oak Point.

Joe Painter will retire as city manager for the City of Castroville in March. Paul Hofmann will be the new city manager for that city.

Scott Perry is the new city administrator for the City of Alvord.

Dave Ramon is the new city manager for the City of Albany.

Joe Shephard is the city administrator for the City of Howe.

Ernest Terry retired as city manager for the City of Fritch. Bobby Lamb (current EMS director) is the interim city manager for that city.

Donna Welsh is the city administrator for the City of Copper Canyon.

Raymie Zella is the new city manager for the City of Cuero.

Meet Your Colleagues

The TCMA Management Messenger introduces and welcomes Michael Jump to his new position as the city manager for the City of Caddo Mills. Mike's appointment began November 16, 2009. Prior to his appointment, Mike served as the city administrator for three years for the City of Runaway Bay and administrative captain for two units in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and The State Jail Division. Mike graduated from the Certified Public Managers Program on December 7, 2009, in Austin.

Mike and his wife Debra have been married 28 years and have two daughters, Valerie and Mandi, and five grandchildren: Rebecca, Ella, Charlotte, Tristyn, and Brooklyn. His hobbies include fishing and hunting. Mike and Debra enjoy their grandchildren and family time together.

Gary B. Bean passed on Saturday, January 9. Gary retired in 2000 as city manager for the City of Burkburnett after 33 years.
