1. Minutes
from meeting on August 11, 2006
Approved.
Minutes will be filed and
posted on the TCMA Web site (www.tcma.org).
2. New Members
Approved
two Life members and thirty nine new memberships.
New member packets
will be mailed the week of January 22.
3. ICMA Nominating
Committee recommendation
Approved TCMA Executive Committee recommendation
of Mike Perez to the ICMA Nominating Committee.
To be implemented
as approved.
4. TCMA Annual Conference
location list
Approved new TCMA Annual Conference location list of
South Padre Island, Galveston, Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Central
Texas.
To be implemented as approved.
5. TCMA City Council
of the Year Award
Approved new TCMA City Council of the Year Award.
To be implemented as approved with the same deadline for submitting
nominations as other TCMA Professional Awards-2/28/07.
6. TCMA Membership
Drive
Approved a “new members” drive that will provide
free one-year (2007) TCMA memberships for individuals who join TCMA
from February 1 - June 30, 2007.
To be implemented as approved with
notices placed in the TCMA newsletter and Web site.
7. TCMA Membership
Dues renewal notices time change
Approved sending TCMA Membership Dues
renewal notices in October.
To be implemented as approved beginning
in October 2007.
8. TCMA Ethics Training
Requirement
Approved a recommendation to require two hours of Ethics
training each year as a condition of continued TCMA membership.
To
be implemented as approved effective July 1, 2007.
9. TCMA Online
Ethics Course
Approved recommendations regarding the TCMA Online
Ethics training; completion of the TCMA Online Ethics Course as a
requirement for new members; and waiving first year student member
dues.
To be implemented as approved effective July 1, 2007.
10. TCMA
Pilot Internship Program
Accepted a recommendation from the University
Relations Task Force to consider expanding the TCMA Internship Program.
To be considered in next year’s budget.
11.
Terrell Blodgett Academician Award
Approved a new award.
To be implemented
as approved with a deadline for submitting nominations of April 27,
2007.
12. TCMA-TML Services
Agreement
Authorized the Task Force on Governance to draft a new
Services Agreement and authorized the TCMA Executive Committee to
negotiate with TML with final approval of the Services Agreement
by the TCMA Board.
To be implemented as approved.
13. Co-sponsoring
the ICMA Leading Practices Workshop in April 2008 in Corpus Christi.
Authorized the TCMA Staff to work with ICMA to co-sponsor the April
2008 Workshop.
To be implemented under TCMA’s Co-sponsorship
Guidelines as approved.
14. TCMA Membership
Dues delinquent list
Requested the TCMA Staff provide the TCMA Board
with a list of those to be dropped for non-payment of dues.
A list
by TCMA region of those TCMA members who have not paid their dues
will be provided to the TCMA Board so calls can be made by Board
members.
15. TCMA FY 2005-2006
Audit
Approved.
Approved.
16. Assistants Roundtable
Task Force
Approved creation of the task force to meet and make recommendations
regarding the proposal received from UMANT at the March 30, 2007
TCMA Board meeting.
TCMA Board members can forward suggestions to
President McDaniel of interested individuals to serve on this task
force.
17.
Texas Foundation for Local Government - Appointment of a committee
to develop a Strategic Plan for the Foundation
Approved creation
of this committee to meet and make recommendations about future Foundation
programs and funding.
TFLG Board members can forward suggestions
to President McDaniel of individuals to serve on this task force
